Sapphire Quality Care is looking for a personal domestic and social support worker who has a passion for looking after the elderly in their own homes. You will mainly be working alone so communication is very important when taking care of someone. You will need to report everything that takes place whilst you are there and know what to do if you think the individual is in any danger. Learning the different types of medicines and what to do if the customer is ever hurt is crucial in this business so you must pay attention at all times.
All aspects of personal care. For example, dressing, toileting, showering and helping them into bed.
Making sure they take their medication at the right time in the right doses.
Safely helping them with personal equipment such as standing and walking frames, wheelchairs, hearing aids etc.
You will need to do the housework which includes washing, vacuuming, sweeping, laundry, ironing, changing bedding and general tidying.
Recording and Reporting:
As explained above, it is important that you report everything you do when you are supporting an individual in their home. The list below portrays the things you should be recording.
The care you have provided and assistance with medicines.
Changes to a customer’s condition or any concerns.
Any faulty equipment or hazards.
Your response to any emergencies, accidents or incidents.
All safeguarding matters.
Contact with families or carers.
Any other information the employer may ask for.
The employer is looking for someone who has basic Maths and English knowledge. Experience in care is preferred but not essential as training can be given. You will need good communication and organisational skills. You need to be reliable and friendly towards others and supportive at all times.
Hourly rate is all dependant on experience and the employer is willing to pay money for each mile all drivers do.
