Description

You can already be employed to complete this apprenticeship or we can find you employment. During this course, you may be required to work towards and complete your Functional Skills. Stepping Stones provide personal tutors to guide you through the qualification, working through coursework with you and being a port of call for any educational or training issues that may occur.

What will you learn
  • BIIAB Level 2 Diploma in Licensed Hospitality

    This course is aimed at apprentices working in a hospitality role. Your daily duties may include: making different types of beverages, serving different types of produce to customers and delivering the best possible customer service. You will learn how to prepare various types of alcoholic beverage, along with hot and cold drinks.

  • Highfield Functional Skills Qualification in English at Level 1

    This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their skills in English to help them gain the most from work, education and everyday life.

  • Highfield Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 1

    This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their skills in mathematics to help from work, education and everyday life.


Duration: 18 Months

Course Units

The aim of this unit is to develop your knowledge and understanding of basic health, hygiene, safety and security. You will be able to maintain a clean and hygienic personal appearance, ensuring any cuts and grazes are treated, and illnesses and infections reported. You will also cover safety and security in your workplace, helping to spot and deal with hazards, and following emergency procedures when necessary.
This unit will enable you to make a useful contribution to the work of a team, where the team includes your line manager and/or supervisor as well as the other people working at the same level as yourself. You will learn how to accurately follow instructions, help others when they need help, communicate with the people you work with, obtain feedback on what you do well and where you could improve, and continue to learn and develop yourself.
The aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge and understanding required to serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You will understand how to take customer orders and the importance of doing this accurately. You will also be able to identify the appropriate legislation that needs to be complied with while serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
The aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge and understanding required for preparing and clearing bar areas for service.
You will learn how to prepare service areas in a safe and hygienic manner, following storage and stock rotation procedures.
